On
January
8, 1993, what would have been Elvis Presley's 58th birthday, Pure
Gold 14WIEL and sister station WKMO observed
a real Rock And Roll Holiday in
Elizabethtown and celebrated the issuance of a commemorative stamp
honoring the King of Rock and
Roll! A temporary WIEL
station, called
the "Don't Be Cruel" station, was
set up in the lobby where station personalities interviewed
those standing in a long line discussing their memories of the King. On
this newest of our feature pages you'll find photos and bits of
the historical event in the life of 14WIEL!
